Everyday wipe-down

Use a soft, lightly damp microfiber cloth to remove dust and surface marks. Wipe in one direction, then let air-dry away from direct sun or heat.

Spot cleaning

  • Water stains — blot immediately, then air-dry flat.
  • Oil or makeup — sprinkle a fine layer of cornstarch, let sit 4 hours, brush off gently.
  • Ink or dye transfer — do not rub. Email us within 48 hours for our recommended product.

Conditioning leather

Every 4–6 months, apply a pea-sized amount of pH-neutral leather conditioner with a clean cloth. Buff lightly. Skip if your piece is in our coated canvas or nylon — it doesn’t need it.

Storage

Store your bag stuffed lightly (we recommend acid-free tissue) inside the dust bag it arrived in. Keep away from direct sun, radiators, and humidity above 60%. Rotate which bag you’re using — leather likes a rest.

Hardware

All Selvarno hardware is solid brass with a protective finish. Wipe with a dry cloth. Avoid jewelry cleaners — they’ll strip the finish.
